Munch and Rembrandt

Updated: May 29, 2021

It is with great pride we are able to present three new additions to the gallery collection.

The first and most intriguing piece is a work by Rembrandt van Rijn, the Dutch master who needs no further introduction. The artwork is the last known etching Rembrandt made, in the seventh stage, and it portrays Jan Antonides Van Der Linden, who was a famous physician in the 1600s. The piece is made by engraving and drypoint in black ink on laid paper. Truly a fascinating find.

The second addition is a work by the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. It is an original etching, a portrait of Andreas Schwarz, found in the book "Graphic der neuzeit" by Kurt Glaser. It was published in 1922 by Bruno Cassirer Verlag in Berlin.

The final introduction belongs to Salvador Dali. His litograph "Raven and the fox" have found a good home with us.

You can find all the new additions in the gallery. Until next time.
