Karl Kaufmann was an Austrian painter who focused his career on landscapes. In this painting from 1892, under the pseudonym Leo Perla, Kaufmanns canvas portrays a Venetian dock. Kaufmann is famous for painting on the move during his expansive travels. He visited Norway, Holland and Italy and painted scenes from local life.
